Yes, standard (ie not Adventure) 1150GS seats are interchangeable between the 1100 & 1150
will a 1150 seat fit on a 1100
after 400 miles this weekend my back is shot so thinking of getting a upgrade thinking of a Sargent seat or is there any other options to consider
Na! Mate. Standard is all you've got so get used to it
On the other hand, a search will tell you all you need to know. The subject has been done to death on this Forum.
There are shed loads of seats available. Sergeant, Corbins, wunderlich, touratech, to name a few.
Then there are loads of seat artisans who will take your seat and remodel it to your needs.
Then there are aftermarket seat cushions such as airhawk, or sheepskins etc.
At the end of the day there are lots of options at varying prices.
Fill your boots.
On a personal note. After 14 years on a GS. I have gone from standard seat to addition of airhawk pad. Next option was a sergeant which sat me lower than standard and hurt my back. Got my original seat reprofiled and recovered, still sore arse and back.
Eventually settled on a wunderlich, which was cheaper than a sergent, and I think better quality. The seat is higher and concaved for the arse, so no pressure points. I've done loads of miles on it, and the National Rally (10 hrs in the saddle ) and find it is the best investment I made.
It can be a long and expensive road to achieve the comfort you crave.
