Merru Christmas JB :beerjug:

I shall look forward to hopefully being part of both a WC and Lanncastrian Invasion of Dent next year, asssuming my worthless only slightly awesome steed hasn't broken down by then :D

Look forward to seeing you, we'll have a

K1600 GT, the thinking man's motorcycle

I had a K1600 for a loaner while my bike was being serviced, now that is tempting.

But at 320 kg it might be a bit much for Big George.

Yes they do a lot of thinking K1600 GT owners! Mainly regret!

Particularly if they tried to sell a two year old example back to the dealer in December ;)

PS - what happened to Big George - he's been very quiet since he started the thread :aidan

SECOND HAND VALUES ON THE LC

Reading some of the replies to my opinion on the second hand values from some of the forums member they seem more interested in knocking us northerners that ride all through the year, that have been riding over 50 yrs and find they need to go to a smaller machine to keep riding, also find that loosing so much when the bmw and other dealers are not interested taking them in as part exchange after saving to make the purchase , agree modern motorcycles are not an investment but would expect a reasonable px most of the motorcycle dealers would not even bother to give px valuation, but if i did not need to down size i would not be sat sending this to the forum, this is the 5 th gs and only the last two a 13 plate and a 14 plate was new and the last two have been a fantastic bike and really loath to get rid of, thats all from me as the gs has now gone sadly .

big george the old northener who cannot get his bike on the stand !!:rob:rob:rob

just a thought got a lot of bits taken of the lc for sale if any one interested
:rob

George

Put an advert in the for sale section and you should get plenty of interest :beerjug:

Out of interest what have you gone/going for as a smaller bike :)

Flooded market

By offering cheap rate PCP deals , made it cheaper to buy new than second hand. Now dealers stuck with loads of second hand GSLC, simple economics of supply and demand. Also loads of 2013 bikes traded in after a year.

Shan't be trading mine in next year will keep it.

QUOTE=Nice 'n' Fat;4252729]How have BMW flooded the market?

They only make the bikes that people want to buy with a few extra for stock. The GS is a very popular bike but I'm at a loss to understand why you think it's BMW's fault that your local dealer doesn't want to buy your GS off you for cash in December? :duno[/QUOTE]

I've just bought my 13 GS LC TE complete with Akro, led spots, 3 boxes et al with 3k miles for £9k so it's good for some of us.

Sent from my Nexus 6P

That is a good price, I hope you checked its warranty repair history because a bike with that low miles could have have been a problem for the last owner?

Sounds like good value , supply is exceeding demand at this time of year. I bet that you would have to pay more when the spring gets here.

Don't piss him off & burst his bubble - he's only just bought it

After all the shite I endured with the 1150's JB I jumped to a Triumph Explorer which did 36K reliable miles miles and then I've been on a R1200R TC since.

I thought 3K miles was high for you adventure types? Tesco is only a few miles from most owners :D

So it should be in 1st class condition then if it's been through BMW's warranty system :augie

I had 2 1150 GSA's and to be honest I was less than impressed! JB reckoned I was just unlucky  The second one I just stripped all the bits off and sold on here and the "carcass" went to Poland on a white van.
