Had a second test ride yesterday on the GS1200 and I must say I was more impressed with it than when I had my first test ride about 3 months ago. Plus points for me personally were: smooth responsive engine, slick gearbox, handling, more comfortable seat.
Minus points were: hand grips were very small, to cancel the indicators I felt it was awkward , overall the bike feels small, no road presence compared to my 03 black GS. I had the wife on the back and she was more than happy.
I would not rush out and buy one as my own has only 8000 miles on it, and I would take a loss on it, that I am not prepared to do. Maybe next year or whenever most of the niggles are sorted then I may consider but at present I am more than happy with the 1150. Good luck to those guys who already have them and I am sure through time they will become just as popular as the 1100/1150.
