Dear Tossers, can any of youse recommend a decent hotel in or around Belfast City Centre were me and a Sasanach can park our bikes safely whilst we go an:ChrisKellyd get hammered in the Crown ?

Belfast parking

You obviously have not previously come to Northern Ireland, (on a motorcyle.)

If you had, you would know that motorcyles are sacred objects over here.

It is extremely rare for a motorcycle to be stolen over here.

Classified as sacrilige!

Over here in this most civilised part of the United Kingdom, most bike theft is reserved for scooters & small bikes (for joyriding purposes.)

A big bike with the steering locked will probably be left alone.

Would any of my fellow countrymen like to comment on the correctness or otherwise of the above?

holiday inn express is ok, has secure underground parking out the back... check out details/prices/location on www.ichotels.com

I also stayed in the europa once and conceriege let me park in the conference centre out the back... pretty cool, i worried about marking their marble floors though.... room was bit expensive as well for what it was.... but close to the crown!!!

Yep in over 30yrs riding i've never had a bike nicked nor any of my friends. they just don't touch them, our traffic wardens don't even bother us and walk past them parked on the pavment..

Thanks Fellers, fyi, I spent the first half of my now not inconsiderable life in Norn Iron and whilst living in the UK now, I am back in the Green Green Grass of home several times a year but tbh the last time I rode a moptorbicicycle there was 25 years ago when Nibblers Burger Bar was opposite the Europa ....

I appreciate your help, if you are in the Crown next Sunday night, I'll buy you a pint.

You'll know me by the baldy head and I'll be with another baldy and we'll both have motorbike jackets.

Stayed in the Europa a few weeks ago and parked it around the corner in the Private Car Park run by some Taxi crowd... you will see it right around the corner, bloke charged me £10 quid for fri, sat up until sunday afternoon... I think Cars were £ 9 a day when you were staying in the hotel. Fitzwilliam hotel is there on the corner too and Jurys... all serviced by the same car-park.... he looked after it like a baby...

On yer advice, booked into the Europa and they agreed they will look after the bikes "in" the hotel FOC.

Sounds good to me, I'll let ye know how it goes

Well then, arrived at the Europa and the Concierge let us park the bikes in the conference centre. The Chef blocked the door in teh morning with his wee Mini but we got it moved easily enough. Top job! The rooms were good value at £80 a night with a cracking breakfast too.
