Staying in Belfast in a couple of weeks for a night any hotel recommendation or nice B&Bs ?

Cheers

Les are you Flying in, Driving

Do you want to see Some old fashioned belfast Nightlife

Bit of decent nosh etc etc

La Mon is okay but its WAY outside the main Drag on so many levels

We too have stayed in the La Mon, but as Jay says, miles out of town.

The Europa in the city is nice but I only ever stayed there when someone else was paying!

There is a Jury's Inn, and a few premier inns if you want cheap and cheerful.

Over on the bike with the boss on the back, want to see the tall ships on Sunday and do the titanic museum then of round the island that week,

Cheers

I met some french guys at the NW200 time and they were staying at Ibis "Queens Quarter" (This is reference to Queens University Belfast)

and they needed directions to University Street

I don;t know your budget but this is a good area for the "taste of Belfast"

Great pubs and eateries

Less than 10 minutes away is Maggie May's a studenty type restaurant Good Food at Great prices and plenty of it

Or across the street is Villa Italia

Loads of stuff happening I think the french guys said that there was a lock up car park for their bikes too

Its not a rough area at all but Saturday in any city centre can get silly and most of the students have left now

Keep me up to date and maybe I can arrange some time off to show you some roads (you won't see the benefits from on a Tourist map)

I don't think I'd be staying at the Castle St one not as much to see or do and not so nice an area :rob

sorted :thumb2

many thanks, now to decided route from Belfast next :)

There's a Premier Inn in the Titanic Quarter, but it may be busy that weekend with the Tall Ships. 5 mins walk from both the Tall Ships and the Titanic Center. You could also try the Park Avenue, slightly further away, but a longish walk or short taxi ride from both. Where are you heading after Belfast?

Not sure yet, going to giants causeway etc, so need to plot a good route, just with tall ships being there Sunday thought that was a good start

Yeah, Coast road is a good route up there, just leave Belfast and keep the sea to your right, great scenery and a nice smooth run. Can get a bit squirrelly after Cushendall, but it's worth going all the way up and not turning off. You can stay in Bushmills, near the Giants Causeway, or go on up to Portrush/Portstewart/Coleraine. Some good eating places, pubs and a bit more to do, also makes up the triangle of the North West 200, which is worth taking in if you are that length.

As pootle has suggested do the North Coast road.

Then head for the ferry in Magilligan & start on the Wild Atlantic Way
If ya don't dawdle too much you should get as far as Westport before having to head back to Belfast

Going to plot a route from Belfast than back to Dublin for the ferry, hope to get a good part of the Atlantic way in.

If you are entering Dublin from a Northern direction it may be worth turning off the motorway to take in Malahide and the coast road to Howth.
Howth pier for a coffee or a good fish lunch and then up over the Hill of Howth for a scenic view of the city and Dublin Bay.
Howth is about 20 minutes from the ferry port.

Definitely worth making a bit of time to do that, so much better than staying on the M1. If the weather is nice it would be a lovely little dawdle to finish off your journey.

Les, if your doing the Wild Atlantic way to Westport and you need any recs on Hotels or b+bs etc let me know,I'm a local

les I am over there every few weeks. The Europa is great, pay around £85. It's sister hotel the Stormont is a bit further out but you will be on the bike so no bother. Rooms cheaper and bigger. Be sure to have a pint in Kelly's cellars and if you want, which you will, a premier bite to eat, try Ginger just off Great Victoria Street or there are a couple of decent restaurants on Howard Street or in the Cathedral quarter. As you are coming up from Dublin, consider taking the ferry at Portaferry and Fo the Ards peninsula. That will take you a very scenic way into Belfast.

Enjoy fella and keep those Hids on dip.

Seamus
