Looking to get one of these but lots of different ratings on youtube etc.. I’m more interested in linking it to my phone and nav 6 than the intercom side. Anyone on here using one? Is there a better setup available? I’ve already got the lid but the 10u’s not cheap so want to make sure before I part with the hard earned! Cheers.

The only thing that put me off these was reports of short battery life on this model, I mean battery failure rather than how long the battery last after charging, Sena dont want to know apparently after warranty, and they cant easily be replaced so the units scrap, sometimes after just a year, in the end I opted for a Midland BT pro

Thanks for that. How are you finding the bt pro? Any issues?

The Midland pro is fine, the only moan could be the FM radio is a bit hit and miss, but setting up, pairing to nav v1 and smart phone and garmin 2820 bluetooth all very good,

Battery life in use seems around 8 hours before charging which is less than an hour, turn instructions and music quality is great, as is the quality of all the components (Speakers, Mike ect)

I use it solo, dont use need conferencing or intercoms but sure they would all work well

Only had it in use a few weeks but so far so good

I’ll have a look, thanks for the info. I fancied the sena as its helmet specific so less obtrusive.

No issues across 5 10U’s here.
Occasionally R-P intercom can be a PITA but the new multitasking elements in the software, etc are very good.
Just get the Arai version- the others are designed for flip/split where the Arai is for full face so makes no odds which one you fit it to.

Been thru two separate units, never again. Both had one speaker go faulty and the second units battery life was terrible. Brilliant that it goes all unseen in the helmet but bought a 20s evo after them.

Are the arai and klim units the same then? The difference between flip and full face would just be the mic position ?

Sena 10u, Mine stopped working in heavy rain last month. Dead as a dodo.

I’ve took the plunge and ordered a 10u for the klim. Ordered it from holland as much cheaper than over here. Lots of differing opinions but I like the way it fits in the helmet so we’ll see how it goes!! Thanks for all the input.

Just to balance the views I have two 10U’s and both have been bang on. No problems whatsoever. You can also buy replacement batteries on eBay and they are a sinch to swap out. There’s another thread on this somewhere.

I bought / fitted a Sena to my BMW helmet a year ago for a Portugal trip I made with 2 friends. They worked well, all sync'd up easily etc and the range was 'decent'. The 2 downsides are (i) you get wind noise on the side of the helmet that it's mounted (like as if one of your ear plugs is loose. An annoying wind whistle) (ii) Even in a BMW helmet which has little cut out areas etc, it put pressure on my ear and was uncomfortable after about 20 mins. Immediately after the 2 week trip, I removed it from the helmet and threw it in a drawer.......never to be used again. Waste of £150-200, plus it has left horrible marks on the side of my otherwise mint helmet!

The whole point of the 10U is that it fits integral into the helmet so nothing on the outside. No wind noise. No damage.

Any suggestions, my Sena 10U will not communicate with computer. I've tried several leads, it will charge off any lead. The head set is recognised by the computer, but the Sena app will not recognise it.

When you try to connect it, try holding down the minus button on the headset until it connects. I have the same problem but this normally works.:thumb2

Just a question, Given that Sena do not offer any kind of warranty for waterproofing in fact specifically exclude water damage for something designed to sit on the outside of a crash helmet, WHY would anybody buy anything from them? Its like buying a boat that is designed not to go in the water or a plane designed not to fly?

I mean as a base starting point something you put on the outside of a helmet you would want with a guarantee of waterproofness, surely what ever else a head set does or does not do, the ability not pack in if it starts raining should be top of the list?

I have used Sena and Cardo Bluetooth headsets since they were invented, in all weathers, and I have never had a failure from any of them.:nenau
