Sending Money to Germany

I need to send 11.50 Euros to Germany.

The person does not have a Pay Pal account.

My bank wants an arm and leg to send it there.

Does anyone on here have a bank account in Germany that they could transfer the money from and i will send them the euros, pounds or cheque.

Within the EU, you can transfer money free of charge with any account that has BIC & IBAN code.
Maybe England does not comply to this system (since they never wanted the euro??)

Can't you just post the cash by international Recorded Delivery?

I've used my bank once before, and regretted it after paying their fees.

Next time I think I just rounded it up to the nearest 5 Euro and posted it Recorded Delivery, and it worked a treat.

+1 done this a few times now, no hassle. Especially useful in your case where the fees are larger than the amount you want to transfer.

I wish more Germans would embrace PayPal, it would things a lot easier (and cheaper).

Very true. Cost a flat £20 to send money via IBAN. For small amounts, cash in an envelope and recorded delivery every time.

i wondered about this but having experienced the european bank system i can now see why - the transfer is free and shows in the account quickly so i understand why they dont bother with paypal.
