Sergent Seat (Worth the Money ???)

Ordered my Sargent at the beginning of May and told that it will be the end of the month before it arrives. All the comments I've read here and elsewhere show that it will be worth it.

I could have told you that. Sargent seats are made to order. Mine took a good month or so but it was well worth the wait. Most of the time they tend to overdo the estimated time and it often arrives sooner. Unlike touratech (sometimes).

Really? Tomorrow? :augie

Hopefully, Just spoken to Neil and Paid for nextday delivery so it should :aidan

Ordered my seargent seat last week in april. it came this week.
Its brilliant. looks excelent and is so much more comfortable.
(picture doesnt do it justice, it has a carbon fibre like look.)

Ordered mine today (after a good long ride using Thunders Sargent, thanks mate :thumb2) plus a Sargent seat cover for the oe rear pad. I really don't need to replace the rear seat and Thunder pointed out that this facility was available. So I guess it's time for patience, but I know it'll be worth it. :D

Nice bike :thumb2 I wish my garage was that organised :D

colinw, did you get it today? To be fair I always phone my order through with touratech, and I've never had a massive problem, I just wouldn't order online.

the sargent looks like its quite wide and flat??, i tend to move around the bike in twisties (used to my 999) and the stock seat is quite good for that how does the Sargent compare?

well spotted :)

yes, it is slightly more uncomfortable if hanging off the bike as you are on the beaded edge of a dished saddle.

riding in a more suitably dignified way solves the problem ;)

Here's mine

anyone got a photo of one fitted please? preferably black pin stripe version and OE rear seat

Sargent seat was not as Fantastic as I expected it to be, but it is better than the original and I am trying to convince myself it's getting better with use. Maybe my erse just isn't big enough to squash it into shape quickly.

I wouldn't say that the picture doesn't do it justice, the seat with the silver piping really looks the business:beerjug:

Might have to save up for one of these now:thumb

Hmm, not sure about that, I enjoy a climb around the bike it gives me arse a break :)

I'd have asimilar problem i think, had a sargent on my old SP2 and i thought it was just me that didn't find them comfy as all the reviews were good, guess its just finding one that suits yer arse shape :)

I've got one and to be honest I find it worse than the oem seat. I find that it sits me in a more upright position and struggling to reach the bars comfortably. I may try raising the bars to compensate but it's not the magical answer to cure my sore arse that I was expecting.
I also find that due to the shape of the seat the inside of my calfs tend to touch the foot pegs when standing rather than infront or behind which is also uncomfortable when stationary at lights etc.
I would definitely recommend a try before you buy to see if it suits you.

Just to add that I'm 5'9" and only 10 stone which may have a bearing on things!

Sargent Seat (Worth the Money???)

+1 for definitely worth the money. Have this seat on two different R12GS's. My wife and I recently finished a 45 day 17,000 km ride in the outbacks of Mexico and Guatemala and both butts are very happy with this seat. Can't overlook the "domestic harmony" aspect:thumb. Cheers!
