Is there anyone here with a service dvd or cd type manual for the R1200RT ? mines the 2013 version.

I'm trying to remove the wheels and got stuck at the front mud guard ha ha !! saw two screws on sides but cannot see any others then theres the wheel spindle !!

sorry I'm just used to Hondas. first Beemer for me and some things are different.

I've got a Version 1 dated 2005 you can have. I doubt that the wheels have changed much over the years. Just pm me your address and I'll stick it in the post.
Cheers
John

For my 2011 RT to remove the front wheel

1/ Remove front wheel cover [ the painted beak ] - Remove 2 screws each from L / R side. Push cover upwards and work it in the forward direction of travel to remove. Remove noting the tabs.
2/ Release the brake calipers [ 2 bolts each side ]
3/ Lift the front wheel. Strap it down at the rear.
4/ Slacken the axle clamping screw.
5/ Remove the quick release axle with a hexagon.
6. Roll the wheel forward to release.

Hope that helps if you have to do the job today !

A while since i took mine out but i think you have to gently pull the sides of the mudguard out , after removing the screws.
If you can't strap the bike down just fill the panniers/top box with heavy stuff to lift the front off the ground and then put something under the engine to stop it tipping forward and off the stand.
Removal procedure usually in the handbook??

Thanks,
figured it out ! what a plonker Rodney !!

I need some new tyres and local chap won't do it wheels on bike. As it's brand new I won't be doing much servicing myself. I do like the fact all the fasteners are the same, pity Honda don't learn a few lessons from BMW. On my old ST1300 there was (from memory) 4 or 5 different fasteners to contend with.
