Vines Guildford charged £145- apparently it's partly subsidised by the sales dept.......... perhaps the subsidy was £32- :nenau

Was Hurst the selling dealer?

I'm told the first service is subsidised by the margin the selling dealer made in the first place. Think I was told around £145 so you're not so far away.

BTW it takes around 1hour

Mine should have been about £130, but then I bought some of those trick BMW footpegs at the same time.:blast:D

I would not even consider a deal unless the first service was inlcuded in it.

Us boys just wanted to hand the dosh over to our beloved dealers:aidan

Whilst not a wethead, the First Service on my GSA 90th Anniversary is Free Labour, I pay for parts @ Chester Motorrad (in this weekend). They did the same on my Rallye, they change the FD oil on the first service as well, but it was well under £100.

Looks like it's all down to the dealer really, no standard practice. I remember in the days of Motorcycle City in Farnborough, I bought my 350LC from them and in the small print, you waived the right to the "free" first service as it was discounted in the sale price.

That depends on the deal. If you've got £1000 off the bike, but no free service, would you walk away?:nenau

I wait until I'm sure that I'm going to order a bike, when all negotiations appear to be done I always say "If you include the first service in that deal I'll put a deposit down now"

I've bought a fair few new bikes over the years and no one's said no yet :thumb

£100 Allan Jefferies.

Got discount off bike but never thought about haggling for first service!! I remember getting the bill for the first service for my Ducati 999s and it came to £220. When I said my R1's first service was free (I'd swapped R1 for 999) the reply was something like "we'll sir you're on an Italian superbike now not an ordinary Japanese one! Lesson learnt!:blast
