just booked a 24k service at Woolaston BMW for my 1150GSA, £390.39.....yikes !!

yes....expensive 
. My 24k (2004 1150 GSA) with RGM was about £200 and that was a full 24k service carried out to the exact BMW service schedule using original BMW parts.
See if you can find an independant mechanic, im sure someone will be along to tell you of one within travelling distance from where you are
