Service in Yorkshire

Recently moved to East Yorks and need to get a service done on the LC + gearbox seal recall. 3 dealers are within range, Barry Robson, Alan Jeffries and Rainbow.

Any advice please guys. Will need a courtesy bike.

Avoid Marshalls ( AKA Astles ), I used Barry Robson for my RT when it needed an 18,000 mile service last year. I got good service and a loaner, even though i was a first time customer

I have used both Jefferies and Robson....Both good.

I have not used Rainbow, but they have a fine reputation here so wouldn't hesitate to use them.

I wouldn't use Astle as Grimsby is a complete shit hole....

It was a suggestion based on location in the belief that east Yorkshire isn't actually too far from Grimsby, not a recommendation. It is now marshals BMW which may have improved them i didn't rate them overly much both for sales and service when it was Astles

Rainbow are reputed to be good and that is who i use now as you know for both sales and service but they can also be a bit hit and miss as you also know but in fairness they rectified and compensated my issues without any major drama so i will continue to use them for now.

So i suppose i must also give it the +1 for Rainbow

All dealers will fuck up and Rainbow did in my case (its on another thread somewhere) but IMO a measure of how good a place is is how they rectify their fuck up and Rainbow were very good.

Forget Astles they're fecking hopeless in my experience.

I have purchased 1 GS and 2 GSA new between 2010 and 2013
Salesman was great and very helpful at all times,the technicians were also very helpful.
Service manager as named above is not very helpful,is very economical with the truth and full of his own self importance.
So good luck with your choice.

You surprise me, he's always been fine with me

Always treated me spot on & 100%, helping me out of a fix, on more than one occasion

Top fella is Steve ~ I've known him 20 years & he can fair ride a bike too
