Got my 2015 gs serviced today at dealers(6500 miles), on my way home 87 miles ,long way round, i thought legs were getting slightly warm?? Never had that before!! Anyway parked up and went out to the garage about an hour later and noticed oil had completly filled the looking glass, usually sits just below top of red circle, phoned dealer who advised me i should take bike a run till engine got to running temperature -- 25mile run then straight in to the garage , off the bike and onto the mian stand by the time i got round and looked the looking glass was already full and engine felt like it was cooking although temperature showed 85°c ??? Any thoughts on what to much oil would do over a short time ??

It depends how much it's been overfilled by? If it's by just a small amount ie at the top of the sight glass I wouldn't worry but anymore should be drained out. Could you check it when bike is level but not on the centre stand ie holding it and see how far you have to lean the bike to the left before you can see air on the sight glass?
If it has to be lent more than a couple of degrees off up-right I would drain some out. I don't see how the engine being overfilled with oil could cause your legs to get warm.

Put it on the centre stand with engine up to running temp leave for 5 mins and check level

Shouldn't be filling the glass on its stand drop the guard of and take some out or get the stealers to sort it asap to much is as bad as to little oil, it's not like an old 1150 that'll burn it off In a week !

2015 GS that I had as a loan bike yesterday showed no oil in the window when the bike was on the side stand. When I held it upright it was at normal level. So different to my 2011 with the sight glass on the lower side!

DO NOT let the bike idle at standstill!!!!!! You can overheat it, manual specifically says do not do this.

Take it back to the dealer and tell them to do it properly.
