Anyone know how much (roughly) it is to get an 1150GSA serviced in Duffy's? There's over 20k miles on it so I guess it's due it's 24k service/annual service. I bought the bike in September and I'm fairly sure it hadn't been serviced in a while. Just want an idea of cost to apply for the mortgage.....

Also noticed an oil drip out of the engine today. It looks like it's coming from the area in the photo's below. Anyone enlighten me as to the name of that bolt it's dripping from?

I drove from Naas to Dublin after seeing that so I hope I didn't knacker anything.

Is there not a new BM mechanic in, Naas? I avoid the dealers nowadays as they tend to have technicians that know how to replace a part to the manual rather than mechanics who know how to repair.....

hopefully someone will shed some more light on your options..:thumb2

Shop around, 24k's a big one and might be pricey. Independent guy could well be cheaper if there's someone near you. Or take a run up North and see Brian at Mototech, what with the way the Yo-Yo is at the minute

30k KM service for 1150GSA at Kearys in Cork is €300-350..........assuming that the 20K service was completed fully & correctly :nenau

wht don't you ring them for a quote :nenau
your leak is from an oil feed pipe, it just needs to be tightened slightly. if it still weeps after that, then you need to replace the sealing washers on the bolt :thumb2

Howsa Goin !
For BMW Dealer Servicing , i get Max ""Bang for my Buck""
At Charlies Motorad in Belfast ,/ Mallusk.
Talk tey Allan , 04890 848466 .

Servicing

You should try Husts in Belfast , abgout half the price of any thing down here.
Make appointment , if you go , they even do it on Saturday mornings.
Had 2 R series up there recently got two tyres and a battery and full services for the equivalent of € 500 for both, Duffys wanted €600, Muddocks asked for €800 and Kearys estimated the job at €600 each -1200.
Even going to an outside dealer it still has to go on the computer to up date the bikes brains , some service agents here have an arrangement to do this even though you may not know this is happening.
Cheeck around before you decide.

Howya Deckster, just quoting ya in case he missed it. :augie

THere 2 alloy washers at that bolt (it's a hollow bolt

Do NOT strain on it if you try to tighten it and it doesn't budge

The sealing washers are alloy and the salt eats them!

They're not usually a problem except for the one on the top right forward of the engine as it pishes out when it goes

Simple to cure, just drop the oil while doing oil change and about a YoYo worth of washers one tween the nut bit and t'other against the block

Maybe he should bring his bike to the library and his manual to the Dealers

Have the bike booked into Mototech later in the month. I'll take a spin up.

So next question - any ideas what to do for a few hours while the bike is being serviced? Do they give me a courtesy bike?
