Servicing in France

Has anyone serviced his bike in France ? since I ll be in the country was wondering if i should get my bike serviced there as well..it make financial sense..considering the quote i have had so far ...

Had mine serviced at Arras, I think it was, a couple of years ago, on the way back from the Alps. It was no problem, the Manager spoke good English, no issues with warranty.

Where do you want to have your bike serviced ?
It all depends where you'll be in france. Do you want to be serviced by a BMW dealer ?
I am French, I can help you find a few addresses but you have to tell me where you are going to be ;-)

I have had my GS service at Europ Touring in both Arras and Calais - http://europtouring.free.fr/

Until the £ went tits up against the € it was much cheaper and Patrice and his team do a good job.

I have been over for a few day trips and had the bike done.

Patrice is the owner and is based in Arras. His English is good. His son runs the Calais outfit and when I was there last English wasn't too good.


If you are there on holiday or can plan a drop in on the way back I have nothing but praise for them. Check the price by email first.

I rather have it serviced by BMW dealer, it looks good on the book Should I need to sell it..
the plan is to go Paris via Portsmouth -Le Havre and then head south to Grenoble...so it s either around Rouen, Paris or Grenoble ( maybe not so much Paris i guess it would be expensive..)

Hi ,

This is what I got from the french BMW motorrad website. All those are official BMW dealers. Now I am not sure if they do all service, I think they should, probably best to check on their website or by emails.

Personally I would avoid Paris, as riding around and finding a garage in Paris is going to be a pain. I would do the service in either rouen or grenoble.

One key french vocabulary is
to service the bike = faire la revision de la moto

but also
"vidange" or "vidanger" means to drain liquids, usually oil servcie
