Servo ABS

The Servo ABS 3 consists of two units.

The Motor Pump unit

and

The Electronic Control Unit.

Be careful, and make sure you get what you want because the less knowledgeable may not know that ABS 3 units fitted to the R1150 range are not all the same. The R1150RT and RS units have front and rear brake controls linked, where as the others only have front brake control linked. This will probably not matter, if all you want is to fit an ECU and not connect it to an existing Motor Pump Unit.

Thank you Ian, yes just intend that to be a dud, so hopefully should not matter!

I have a perfectly good one, fully working when professionally removed. It was a replacement for one that failed in 2007. It’s from my 2003 1150gs single spark. The unit itself has, at a guess has done about 20k.
Plus all the ancillary pipe work.

Hi Alan,

It was a pleasure meeting you yesterday and thank you so much for your kindness. You have given my old girl a new lease of life!

If it goes again, just bypass it. The brakes are so much nicer without the bloody servo, and safer too as failure of the unit won’t leave you without brakes.
