2003 GS with servo. After not using the bike for 6 weeks went out for a ride and all fine for the first 7 or 8 miles then the brake warning lights came on. Lower light on continuously, upper flashing fast.
Carried on riding & it was soon apparent that whilst the front brake was working alright there was no servo assistance to the rear - residual only.
Have read lots of previous posts on this issue and checked things like cable integrity & the brake light & switch. All seems ok.
In short: the front brake works, the servo whines but it has no effect on the rear brake.
Is there anything left to check other than the servo pump itself?
I notice there's a blanked-off brake pipe coming off the fron right-hand side of the servo unit. Is this a checking point?
Is this a dealer only job?
Any pointers much appreciated.
