When setting the alarm/immobiliser on my GS it only very occasionally gives two beeps to indicate as set. Indicators flash and light on dash blinks always though.:nenau
Any thoughts?

Mine doesn't give any beeps!! Two flashes of the indicators going on, and one when turning off. It's not very sensitive either. I have to give it a good bouncing to set it off which I suppose is a good thing when windy etc.

Just a thought

The plipper battery may be on the way out.
If you've got 2 plippers try using the spare one.

I tried to change the settings on my alarm & it wouldn't have it although the alarm would activate/deactivate OK. Some bright spark here suggested the battery may be low in my plipper.

It was.

I've got the bleeps now. It was a programming issue. I couldn't use my manual as the pages were stuck together. Looks like the last owner had a thing for alarms. Downloaded the manual and used the programming mode.

The bleeps are pretty annoying though.

As I remember 1 beep to arm, and the second beep to keep the alarm armed but turn off the motion sensor for if you was on a car ferry/train etc and stop it going off.

Although you are right in saying they are not very sensitive anyway.

BMW Alarm

I initially didn't think the alarm was very sensitive either but sometimes it is over sensitive!!

Was washing the wheels the other day, not too roughly and it went off.

I have it set so it arms when you turn off the ignition but have it without the annoying peep peep.

This is an old thread I know, I saw that someone was able to download the R1200GS owner's manual somewhere online. I was wondering if anyone has a link to it. The manual that came with my bike is all stuck together and the pages are ripped, so it is pretty useless to me.

Thanks!
