Obviously Shad have been around for years and familiar to many on here .
But for those that aren’t familiar with them , their kit is great value and great quality.

I’ve had a Shad 58X top box on my Wing for 3 years . It’s expandable and very neat . Works very well too

Last week in Gran Canaria I also used the expendable 38x panniers

Also good value and well made.
Work faultlessly .

Much cheaper than many other brands .

For example, my ‘go to’ luggage over the last few years has been SW Motech . Love their Dusc panniers/top boxes and Pro Side Carriers that come off , but pretty much twice the price of Shad. And they ain’t twice as good.
I love the fact that the SWM side carriers quickly detach when not in use BUT the Shad carriers are very subtle and don’t look out of place when panniers not fitted

In saying that , I’m not planning on panniers for my bike as going to just use top boxes and roll bag strapped to pliion seat .

I recently sold my SW Motech Pro City WP tank bag as thought I was done with adventure bikes 🤦‍♂️.

Then go and buy another .😳

So Ive just ordered the new waterproof tank bag from Shad

And the tank ring for it is £12 !

Compared to the SWM jobby

And that tank ring is £33 !

Under half the price again !

Worth a look !

I'm on my 2nd set of Shad handlebar muffs on the Tmax, the first set lasted me a few years of daily abuse.

Can't go wrong for the price I paid.

I'm sure I read somewhere that it is SHAD that manufacture the vario luggage for BMW bikes. I like the flexibility of vario boxes on my R1200GS but they do weigh rather a lot and have that in-built BMW design obsolescence of not fitting later generations of bikes. I've moved towards Givi Canyon soft panniers. Buy the Givi bike specific rack set and you're ready to roll.

Probably . Then they double the price !

had a mid to late 40s litre top box on a cb500f

the honda stuff was ££££££ the hepco also £££££

found a rack on spanish ebay and the box on french ebay

less than £100 - they were knocking 300 here at the time - honda wanted that just for the box

would again if i was looking for hard stuff (use kriega and rhinowalk now)

didnt break didnt fall off

Got the Shad 3P system on my Guzzi. The fittings are quite unobtrusive without panniers on, and a solid mounting with panniers on.
Panniers have always stayed dry inside.

Like them so much, getting 3P mounts for my partner's Hornet 750. She likes the panniers too, and just bought some SH35 too 👍

I like the Shad38X expandables I used last week in Gran Canaria.

Might get a set at some point for Vstrom, with white lids to match the top box and bike colour.

Was going to just use top box and roll bag but pillion perch is quite narrow so may resort to panniers .

I recently got the 3P system and the 38X panniers for total of €580. A BMW dealer was quoting €1400 just for the Vario panniers (no top box). Just had first spin with them - rock solid and good quality. I’m delighted. Also the 3P offers good tie points for my tail bag or roll bag…..highly recommend.

Panniers arrived . Changed the covers to white and fitted the 3P frames .
Very happy with the quality .

Nice that they include a spare lock as I’d bought the top box separately so changed the lock to use one key for all three boxes
