Any one got any ideas as to how much its going to cost
this time? The Rear shaft sealing ring is now weeping oil
and needs replacing on my 2005 1200gs the B*** thing
has only done 24000miles and the fault list just keeps growing.

Fault number 5 and at least for once its note electrical.:spitfire

Its amazing how so many of the 1200s have so many faults with so few miles on them!! - :blast
The 1100gs really is the daddy !! :D:bow
Hope you get it sorted and at not too much expense!!:beerjug:

oil leak

just bought a new seal for the final drive on mine cos oil was leaking out of the rubber boot , cost £6 ...looks pretty straight forward to fit.

I suspect they were better built. They were certainly a lot more expensive. But the only bike that has left me stranded miles from anywhere (or actually left me stranded at all) was an 1100. :D

oil seal

Just to let every one see its the seal on the right hand side of the
drive shaft looking at the bike from the back
