Shall I call BMW assist ?

After a thoroughly enjoyable 2 days and 587 miles in wales I can report that the bike is fucking fantastic but I do wish the dealer had re set the service indicator after it's first service
Not bloody good enough really

You'd think that's the sort of thing they'd pick up on a test ride ..... :blast

The bike has been back to the dealers today to resolve the issues of the pannier locks.

Firstly i think that good customer service is how they deal with a complaint be it the bikes fault or the dealers which in this case was a bit of both. The Dealers were incredibly and sincerely apologetic and did compensate me for the trouble without my asking. So i give them credit for this.

The pannier locks seem to be a problem particularly with not seating correctly and then the barrells coming out this has now been rectified as has the issue with the key not going into the lock which was actually the panneir frame being mis aligned causing the pannier and lock to be so stressed the key would not go in. Again all nw sorted and they even washed it for me !!

So the dealer put the panniers on the bike and sent you on your way at the first service.

On completing this task , the dealer did not notice that the panniers were not fitting correctly but managed to get the key out. Even though , according to you, the frame was misaligned so much that the locks were stressed.

Perhaps they had the local gorilla fit the panniers

No not quite
The panniers were fitted new at first service but as it now transpires the locks work fine untill they are attached to the frame where they close and lock and release the key but at that point become stressed that the key will not go back in ! They are a tight fit with little tolerance so they wont rattle around but a slight misalignment in the frame makes them just a little bit too tight for the lock.
As i said they fit fine right up to where they needed unlocking. Another bod on here has a simmilar issue but cant get the key out !!

Correct thats me, I can get the key out but its so tight you think your going to snap the key. very tight to turn too but now they are on they can stay on until I get a chance for the dealer to do a bit of bending and tweeking. all the other locks are fine its just the pannier lock to bike frame ones that are bad.

Get your dealer to try a new pannier (mine did and it was worse still) which then narrows it down to the pannier frame which with a bit of adjustment solves the problem !

Cheers do you know what they adjusted is it a matter of undoing bolts or a bit of bending.

They were talking about fitting a new frame but as it's only 2 weeks old I can't tell if they did or not and I forgot to ask in all the excitement of having it back but looking at it it appears to have various nuts and bolts joining it all together so it may be a case of loosening and adjusting within the "play"
All I know is the case Is solved

Most time things like this are sorted by slacking the mounting bolts giving it a good shake and doing the bolts up again. Also try pushing the clip to release pressure on the key.
Mine Admittedly not a WC does this when I put too much tape on the carrier to stop the box fretting the tubes. Not rocket science tbh

Yes Ive done all the banging pushing, but it was so stiff you think your going to snap the key but to be fair, its now been on and off the bike over the past couple of weeks and has eased up no end, so I guess a bit of wearing in was required.
as far as I am aware the fitting arangement is different on the 2014 GSA compared to the older versions.

The old system is typical Touratech - over complicated.
I have a twin silencer shotgun exhaust. It really rubs it in that the LHS box has actually no need for the afterthought cut out. If the cans were set parallel to the wheel (like the MV Brutale) there would be more than enough space for two RHS boxes.
