Sheds

Father in law purchased one and asked me to put it up , what a job :blast
Took me and my 30 year old son 9 hours to erect and cost a fortune in plasters (sharp edges)
Went round last week and anything metal in there is going rusty already :nenau
Don't recommend but your choice

Steel Tech Sheds are based in Galway but deliver and build anywhere in the country. I have been in one of their sheds at GerryB's place in west Cork and the quality really is very very good. I believe that they now have a rep in the north, in the Ballymena area I think who will quote you on price and a delivery/build day.

Having seen the quality of the shed that Gerry has I'd have no hesitation in buying one myself if needed. :thumb2

Can recommend O'Riordan Sheds in Charleville. The shed is dry and my rideon and garden tools are rust free. You need to construct a base and they deliver and erect.
Shanette in Kilbeggan also do good steel Sheds.

If you are going to put bikes in it do NOT get a metal Shed!

Unless you are going to insulate it

They condensate very heavily and its been said that you would be as well leaving a bike outside than in a metal shed at least the air moves about to dry it off outside

P.S. Yer Subs have run out again
I'm in the market for a metal garden shed and was wondering if anyone knows anything about these ones....

Any advice welcome.

Clane Steel Sheds. Based in ... Clane. Bikey no rusty in there. Neither do tools. Optional roof lining prevents drips and condensation.

Looks similar to one I put up on my allotment. Took all day for 3 of us to put up very fiddly and frustrating job. Sliding door and are flimsy and bend I have had to brace mine with 2x1. The shed need bolting down well or weighing down or it will blow over (don't ask how I know this) I would not want to buy another. Good luck if you choose to do so.

Hi,
Another thing to look out for is the height of the doorway. I nearly bought one of these, then realised the door height is 5' 2", so unless you are a short person it would be very low. Wooden shed is probably better!

That's the same make / construction as mine - which you've seen.
Agree with the comments that they are a bugger to assemble. But not the ones about condensation. Mine was grand til next doors builders trod all over the effing roof.

Just bought a 6m X 4m insulated roof and walls :rob

I had a yardmaster at my last house. A big job to erect but well pleased when I'd done it. Not for storing bikes but normal garden stuff. Nice and secure and no decay. 13 years later I know it's still up and looking good. :thumb

Very happy with the shed, would highly recommend one. BUT got phone call from Adelaide insurance quoting me, and guess what, not alone will they not insure your bike if you have it parked outside your house while you run back in for a coffee, they will not cover it in a shed unless its concrete. So I huffed and I puffed and I blew the, No I stayed with AON. So be careful filling out your proposal and say its not garaged.

Just got a 9mtr X 4mtr Steeltech jobbie. Erected in a few hours and no obvious sign of condensation. It's a non drip one. The slab its sitting on cost me €1350 so factor that into your costs.

I've got a small 3x3m shed from Shanette Sheds in Westmeath for about the last 4yrs. Very solid construction, 10-point locking pedestrian door and insulated. No dampness in it and a durable plastic-type paint coating on the panels. It wasn't cheap but to me it is worth it.
I've seen some other steel sheds and to be honest they were all sh!te in comparison. You pays your money.
