Bike went to skyeskyns today to get measured for seat cover
Did you know that if you laid out a GS12 seat flat that it is more or less the shape of the skin of a dead sheep. interesting fact eh :D

Shaping the skin is the easy bit fixing it to the seat will be trial and error I will first try a stretchy rock straps and see how it goes.
It will be made in two sections for the GS12

Nashskye's 650 is getting the same treatment.

Should have pics by next weekend for all to see and prices.
The covers can be made to order with a choice of styles
All sheepskins are handmade in the old traditional style and are of very high quality unlike some commercially made ones

Skin itself is machine washable When wet just give it a shake as that's what the sheep do.

Interesting.... :) How much would one of these bum pads cost a chap...?

Schtum £55000000000000 to you, anyone else a fiver only kidding old bean :D

The skin that I'm using costs £39.00 dark brown Hebridean sheep (It'll hide any marks from scary moments on the road :D ) then they'll be the ladies time and strapping on top plus postage should have a general idea by the weekend.

As I said trial and error on my bike as to fix it to the seat with easy fitting and removal.
But if anyone wants one cut to size and lash it down themselves I'll get a price for that too :thumb

More can be seen at

The £39.00 are the best as they are not too fluffy

That's pretty scarey..... So how do you know you're not undercharging folks.....?

BTW did I mention I need a new screen for my Golf? .....and the one on SWMBO's Fabia isn't much better..... :D

The missus was complaining about the uncomfortable 1150 seat, so when we were out at a 'country fair' type event (actually a jousting day, but with the same sort of side shows / craft outlets in attendance) she saw some sheepskin offcuts, which were just the right size at £10, so with some elastic, velcro, needle and cotton - she'ce crafted a fitted seat cover, that is removable.

The result is pig ugly - but then agin it is a GS so who cares. However the ride is much improved, not perfect for all day pillion riding, but certainly much better.

Cheers
