Anyone fitted std 1150gs shox to an adventure ?
ive got an Adventure SE with a low seat fitted but want to use the STD blue and grey seat firstly for the looks and secondly for the comfort but the dammed thing is tooo high so I was thinking of fitting std 1150 shox to lower the bike what are the implications and are they a straghtfoward swop what about the stands ?????????????????? :mmmm

Swap is OK

I have just swapped my Adv shocks for standard GS ones. No problems with the swap it only takes about 20 minutes (coffe breaks included).

You will either have to swap the center stand or be a really strong bugger. The side stand is OK to keep as it holds the bike at a reasonable angle.

When you swap the center stand make sure the ORings are OK and put some good waterproof grease in there. Mine was scored and very dry at 60K miles.

Although the standard GS shocks make a good change to the height I think when I swap to Ohlins I will go a little longer (not as long as the Adv) just to get a bit of clearance back. Then again I am not too concerned with touching the ground (29" inner leg).

Cheers OZ just fitted the shox and put the original blue/grey seat back on and I can touch the floor ok much more managable cheers for the advise :thumb
