Shocks how to tell when worn?

You might want to read through this thread over on ADVrider. The poster re-sprung his stock shock with pretty good results. I'm going to save up my money and flat out replace the complete shock, but maybe this will work for you.

Cheers Gonzomup....interesting reading...may have a go:thumb2

Does anyone know who refurbishes standard shocks?
...is it worth having them done?

I cant afford them Ohlin things I'm afraid, so looking for a cheaper solution to my droopy rear...:D

(I have got a feeling I am going to regret the droopy rear comment):blast

Yes. Nick. Here :thumb2

Thanks NIN. I will be contacting them for a price:bounce1:bounce1

I'd also try a company called 'Mojo'. They specialise in downhill cycling, but have moved into bikes in the last few years and have a pretty good repuation. They service and renew shocks quite reasonably, depending on what it needs.

Clickity-click.

New bike!

1. I bought my 2000 1150 S/H and so if the shocks were worn, how would I know? I guess if you don't know any different it might be hard to tell (except really bad failure).
Hope you can help:o
I did 80.000 km on my 00 1150GS before it occured to me that she shocks might need replacement. I bought Wilbers.

It was like getting a new bike! I know that sounds stupid, but it is true. The wobbling that I had gotten so used that I didn't know it was there, was gone. The ability to absorb not just convey) bumps on the road came back; I hadn't noticed that it disappeared. And, sorry to say, me speed went up considerable now that the bike actually follows the path I want.

Best investment in the bike I have ever done.
