right i am looking to upgrade my shocks on my 1200, what shocks and where to get them. i want to be able to spec up spring and damping.

i.e tell them my weight and they build shocks to suite, anybody done this, and what cost

Wilburs build their shocks to order using data you supply and have th option of remote preload ajuster and high and low speed compression adjustment as well.

UK distributors are Everyaccessory and they offer a discount for members of the forum.

Price is dependent on the spec, I went for the remote pre-load and compression adjustment and found it very competitive.

MAXTON, MAXTON , MAXTON, of Chesire great service and a quality shock, that only needs servicing every 15,000 miles. They will build it to what ever spec you want. Mine cost me £650.00 with a remote pre-load adjuster. And on the advice of Richard Maxton who was doing himself out of £400.00 you only really need to replace and upgrade the rear.

I paid £690 total inc vat and delivery for a new front and rear shock with the remote preload option on the rear shock. Lead time was 3 weeks from ordering to holding in my hand. Fitting myself took me about 2 hours.

Having spoken to John about the various brands available, he recommended Wilburs and I haven't been dissappointed in fact I'm chuffed with them.
