Day 4: Thursday 25th June 2024.
Going home
Stuff was packed. Panniers clipped back on. Bike was loaded. Breakfast was had. We said goodbye to our host and brilliant accommodation, but not before enquiries about booking our next stay there. As I said, we will be back.
Ferry departure wasn't until 2 so we had plenty of time to bimble back to Fishguard. Stopped in Cardigan for coffee and pastries in a place called Crwst. Very nice too. Sat outside, and watched the world go by. It was quite busy I thought.
Ferry boarding went as smoothly as the outbound stage, although the cars seemed to be a more free-for-all here. Checked in grand, got through security grand, but had to sit behind a car being checked for quite a while.....
Boarding grand, bikes strapped down for us and I tied up the front brake with a bungee. Helmets went into the top box and the rucksack with all our necessaries for the ship came out of it.
Went on deck for a bit before heading for the Hygge lounge. Once you have your seats it's fairly safe to leave some items there, jacket, lunch, magazines etc (but I still kept wallet/valueables etc on me) while walking around the ship. I hadn't realised that there is complementary tea/coffee in there. So depending on how much you drink you probably pay for one of you by saving on buying it in the cafeteria.
It was also much quieter and more comfortable. The 3.5 hours seemed to pass faster too.
