O.K. So I've had my late '07 R1200GS since Jan. this year, done 5k wonderful trouble free (yes really:D) miles and am thinking of going the whole hog and trading up to an GSA whilst the prices are keen (and I have a house for sale in wales to fund it:augie). Question is will I appreciate the difference and will I be able to reach the floor (i have the GS seat on low and it's just about o.k.). Is the difference between the earlier model and the newer that great? I do some long trips and would like the extra range, but if I'm honest I just get a twinge of envy when I see one of the beasts approaching on the road. It has such presence and looks sooo cool, shallow I know. I know I could go to those nice guys at Bahnstormer and ride one but then it would be a done deal and I'd just roll over (esp. if I can't reach the floor:augie). Any thoughts, insults about short arses, recommendations accepted.

I'd say stick with it.

The GSA is taller, heavier and more expensive.

How long does your bum last on the seat before you've got have a bum break ?

How long does it take for a splash and dash ? Pish break, coffee break, fag break every couple of hours ?

I've got a GSA and it'll get 350 miles out of a tank (at least) but my arse wouldn't last that long.

maybe your dosh would be better spent on a decent seat, exhaust, panniers, paint job....etc etc :nenau :thumb

Plus you've yet to experience a properly run-in Boxer engine - you've a fair few miles to go yet!

that about covers it :thumb

Meanwhile for an 07 GS you're looking at a difference in price of a good 3k or more....

So the question is.... will a new Adv be at least £3000 better than the one you've got?

Probably not... and as far as the big tank is concerned... my backside also lasts around 90 miles before rigormortis sets in.... good time to refuel :thumb

Go for the GSA:D
I had an `07 GS did 23k in 10 months was v.v good.
Have new GSA now and think its so much better. Just my 2p
Oh I have lowseat off of a gs and get both feet down:rolleyes: so no probs and i`m about 5`8"

Liked the replies!

I liked reading all of your replies, but no help I'm afraid. I'll just have to get me over to Bahnstormers. What's that? my annual service is due. OMG now I don't even need an excuse:augie

And just to show it does venture beyond Hampshire here I am about to get my Knee down at Arnage :augie

Or do this

I think it's a size problem and I can't figure out how to reduce it (que double entndre replies:thumb) So here's, I hope, a more mundane phone shot of herself parked up while I enjoy a curry and the views of the Welsh mountains along the A40.
