Show us yer Triple Black GSA!!!

I've been told the E4 WC is down on power compared to pre-E4 bikes ? Any truth

Have you had your E4 biked mapped I'm intrigued to see before and after figures ?

No I had my last wc GSA mapped but don't feel the need with this one, last one suffered with surging with my akro on and the map sorted it. New E4 is fine for me so won't be getting it done

After Hilltop, mine is about 2bhp less at the rear wheel than my 2015MY GSA. This bike had only done 700 miles when I took it to Geoff, and the last one had done around 4000 miles, so that probably explains it.

What was it before mapped 95bhp ? Reason I'm asking ive had a go on a E4 bike and it felt slightly down on power .

It was over 100 IIRC, so about the same as the last one, but the after figures weren't quite as high. Geoff said to take it back after its done a couple of thousand miles if I want, to see what it's putting out then, as it'll adjust with more miles on the clock.:thumb

Anyone else notice midrange on Euro4 GSA is down compared to Euro3 ? I had demo on Euro4 on Friday and was hugely disappointed, bike had enough miles on it to have loosened up.Have got my dealer scouring Europe looking for a new Euro3.Would be interested to hear from others finding the same.

Sorry but I just don't get this. And I'm not saying your wrong. I put 18000 miles on 16 model year triple black gs and I'm now riding 17 model year triple black gsa - is there any mid range power difference ? Absolutely no. Gearbox seems slightly better but engine just the same.

I had a GS with the lighter crank Feb 2014 build, it definitely felt a bit livelier than a 15 plate same model that I tried.

Yes, had a 17 demo out a few weeks back, it felt a little week compared to my 16. Dynamic mode didn't feel, well, dynamic? I expect it's just a more restrictive cat to meet euro4?

I would agree with this, I test rode an early 14 and it spins up very nicely. Better than my 16 bike for sure.

My 13 yr did spin up really quick and when I changed to a 14 yr with heavy crank i could tell the difference between the two obviously due to the heavy crank, however after riding the E4 bike it felt like they had numb the power delivery compared to my 14 yr bike, ive been told there slightly down on power because of the E4 restrictions. I suppose air cooled engines have limitations and cannot compensate for these restrictions.

Hence why I took mine to see the wizard!:D

Spot on. A chap on an Africa Twin was at Geoff's last time I was there - it made 72 or 74 before and 80 after. Much better and flatter torque curve though. Would like to know what the owner thought as he told me that it would have to go if no substantial improvement in performance. His previous machine was a KTM 990 Adv.

Get it from the horses mouth - chap is on the Africa Twin Forum, told me his handle is Oddjob AFAIR. He had a remap and was going to de-cat the Zorst.
