Show us yer Triple Black GSA!!!

Hi guys

I've just put a deposit on a brand new triple black GSA this afternoon with delivery in about 7-10 days. Bought an alpine white gs1200 just over 2 weeks ago and realised after I didn't like the white and my heart was set on a triple black gsa.

I got a great deal on the triple black and it's coming with some nice options so will post pics when I get it.

Question is this: the alu top box on the GSA is tiny and I'm thinking of ditching it but sticking with the BMW alu panniers as such a good deal. Looking at the givi trekker or the sw motech trax but very hard to find good reviews.

What are your thoughts on top boxes? Also what I have selected already is full luggage, alarm, gsap, keyless, stainless akra. Will get touratech hand guard extenders and mudslinger front and rear. Is there anything else I'm missing?

New nav is meant to be out in March so waiting until then to buy a nav as it will come with a smaller border and improved Bluetooth. I can't work out how to attach a pic but if you see the new 2017 GS press videos and pause it the new nav is clearly visible.

Thank you for the help in advance.

Hi , i see you have changed your pegs and also gear lever and presume brake pedal how do you like them ? do they give you more adjustment r is it just cosmetic , i only ask as i am on the verge of ordering for my new bike, not here yet.

Yep, there's much more adjustment, over the stock pegs/ gear lever/ brake pedal. The only point to note is that you can't put the pegs in the lowest position if you want to keep the peg to gear lever ratio at the recommended setup for perfect gear changes, as the gear lever will foul the side stand. I put mine in the lowest position, and with the gear lever adjusted so that the side stand didn't foul it caused bad gear changes. I now run the pegs in the middle position, which is lower than the stock levers, which is more comfortable.

I have the BMW topbox, and can fit my Shoei GT Air helmet in it. It's perfect for trips away, and with the hooks on the box, you can attach Kreiga bags to it if you need more room.

Other accessories I'd recommend would be Evotech rad guards and shaft protection. Also consider something to protect the shaft & tank from boot/ trouser rubbing. I've put some threads in this section, so have a search.

There's also loads of stuff you don't "need", it depends how far you want to go!

I think not Nutty..............

Lights touchpaper and stands back :D

Here is what yours should look like, Lloyd.:green gri

Where did you get the big mat from ? I painted my garage floor with grey epoxy and wanted a big mat like yours but they seem to be rented out to stores by a firm called PHS .

Thanks for the reply, Nutty, will order some rad guards and check your threads for shaft/tank protection. I think after that I'll be maxed out for a while and will try pick up bits and pieces over the winter for the summer. Just ordered the garage rug below.

For security I've got two ABUS disc locks and an almax chain and anchor. I think the chain from Almax is too heavy for the luggage so am probably going to get the 0.7m for chaining in London. Bike theft here is unbelievable and the GS in general seems like a target. I was always going to spec keyless but after the bike jacking sin the last few months I'm really happy I did. Do any of you guys carry a chain with you? Can the luggage handle it?

Super excited! Will share pics soon. Pic of the new Nav attached.

Half cocked? If your referring to the crash bars and top box rack, you're asking for trouble getting those powder coated. It'll chip off, as soon as you put the luggage on & take it off a couple of times.

Looks nice - any almost the perfect finished article - just needs some black frame plugs and it would be 100% :pullface

My frame plugs are black.:rob

Would the powder coating of crash bars really chip off that easily????

Only if you drop it! It's when adding/ removing luggage that it'll chip.

But don't all GSA tossers have the 3 box luggage on 24/7 ? They certainly seem to when forming mobile road blocks from what I've seen !!

Just a top box for me, and even then it only goes on if I actually need it. ;)

So, the powder coat would soon chip away!
