Show us your GS/GSA LC

I found BMW's website to be confusing/misleading re. What spec you actually get on the TE
It doesnt mention "black engine & transmission" (except in Alpine spec) nor does it say that on the TE you get some of the equipment as featured on the enduro model (abs pro & dynamic brake light) It doesnt mention LED indys or cruise either.
The .pdf brochure DOES give the correct spec (though pics still show silver engines/transmissions)

So heres what you should get

· Suspension Area in Black

Does this mean that the silver motor is no longer available ? Here in the states, the racing red and the frozen blue have silver motors and the white and triple black both have the black drivetrain.
I hope for 2017 BMW doesn't eliminate the silver motors as I'm planning on ordering one and always preferred the silver motor as it's easier to keep clean and easier to see any leaks should they occur.

Note to BMW: Keep the silver motors please.
 
The reason 2016 bikes are black is because the silver ones are corroding and they cant cope with the amount of warranty claims,if you look around the net it is quite well known.
 
The black paint may be better for corrosion etc, but isn't it not just production simplification, economy's of scale. My June '15 GSA has the black engine and the dealer said all the 1200 boxer bikes have been black for a while, even the R NineT using the older right hand drive configuration.

If you look back over a year it was only the gsa and the more expensive triple black/alpine models that had the black motors.
 
Yeah he may have been talking out of his arse. But maybe BMW are just economising by spraying all the engines the same. The f800gs has had a black engine for years. The 1000's all still have silver engines.

Mr Burns, that bike looks awesome in that yellow and the tkc80s. Is that Mr Hootons toolbox on the rear frame?
