My 1995 K1100LT.

42000 miles, in beautiful condition.

In need of a few jobs doing:

Front disc bobbins rattling.
Left hand heated grip u/s.
Front brake light switch u/s.
New bulbs in instrument pod.

That's about it...

It came with:

An immaculate Multivario tank bag.
A pair of generic pannier Liners.
Perfect condition BMW toolkit.

Roy at RGM has owned a K1100RS from new - it's a bit tatty, with around 90,000 miles and I frequently ask him why he doesn't sell it.

I don't believe that Roy rides for pleasure at all these days, apart from his bicycle. If you catch him on a good day, he may well let it go !

Taken last year.

Back in 1990 I owned this K100RS. It was the first time I had used vinyl wrap and I still like the effect to this day!

Amazing condition for an older bike :thumb bet it still rides almost like new too.
What are the 1100 engines like ? Are the smoother than the k100's , my one was quite vibey :comfort
Great for a big miles I should imagine , what a great find must be a one elderly owner

What are the 1100 engines like ?

They have more torque than the K100 engine for sure...

But they either need higher gearing all 'round, or a 6th gear.

To me, the engine has a 'busy' feel to it, especially as I'm used to twins!

But it's a great bike, really capable, and brilliant build quality too.

Roll on the Spring, and a proper long ride;)

It does look a quality bike and rare colour. I'm have thinking of getting one, either that or an 1100 pan . I rode jackass daves pan and really like it , it had a lower center of gravity compared to my R1100 RT and a nice slightly forward riding stance . We shall see . Did you sell your 100rt ?surely not :nenau:nenau

Did you sell your 100rt ?surely not

Yup... the bike I promised myself I'd never sell.

But after a ride 'round Belgium and that area, I just didn't really 'get it' any more.

I've had a Pan Euro ST1100, they're a lovely engine (probably better than the K)...

But they're sportier, and somehow just don't have what the K has... to me anyway.

In my dafter moments I think about fitting a K1 final drive, to lower the revs a bit.

But I think that once I've got used to a 'four', and a revvy engine, all should be well.
