I have just bought this. A 2001 K1200RS SE in, what I think is Pacific blue. I used to ride K1200RS(P)s as police bikes, and loved them. Absolute Rockets compared to what we had had before, and since to be fair. I’ve been hankering after a clean R/S or GT Flying Brick for a while now and finally found this. 33k from new and everything works, even the ABS! And the cruise control, although that has taken a little bit of getting used to. Seems to be an unusual colour for the UK though so I’m going to dig into its history a bit.

That color blue looks good and reminds me of the same shade that French motorcycle police BMs are (used to be?) painted.

Looks like Racing Blue Metallic to me.

Like the previous gen RT (the best and fastest colour!)

Picked it up Monday and had the wettest and windiest ride home from Yorkshire but still very chuffed.

Sold mine to my brother due to lack of space in the garage.....amazing bikes and sad there wasn't a K1600R version. I would defo have one of these again, where did you spy this one from and what price did you pay for that example? I think I need to keep an eye out for another one too!

Found it on Autotrader and it was the most expensive one I've seen advertised, 7k but only 1400 miles so I'm happy

Looks lovely in black, I sometimes hanker after another but wonder if it would be like going back to a former lover and make you realise why you moved on to something better..... expect for Claire.

I see you jumped straight in and bought a taller screen - but you think it’s too big.
How tall are you ?

I have pretty much ridden everywhere with the stock screen fully up so far (I’m 6’) and found it so quiet I don’t need my earplugs in !
But - I don’t know yet if that’s going to work when the wife’s on the back at speed!

Im 5'10 and when the screen is fully up the top edge is right in my eye line, its not the noise aspect, I just prefer to look through it when fully up, so figured I would try a couple inches taller but the Puig is too tall when down (my error, should have measured first)

Seems a bit quiet here.

So I thought I would include a photo of my K1300GT EE.
Milage is 12,000 and it came with a few extra.

The seats are Touratech and both heated. Very comfortable. Haven't been able to find out any information about them.
It also came with the large BMW topbox that is a standard feature on the EE version.

These bikes are extremely rapid. Owned one several years ago. I honestly think it’s a better option than the K1600GT.

So far two folk here have asked for 1st refusal. Guess they know me.
