it's broken

:blast

is there a way to bolt one on... do they make ones you can just buy and use. Cos my one has snapped, it's ripped the whole thread out.

The benifit it no longer smack me in the leg everytime I lift the bike up abit, but now it's a pain cos I can't stand it up...:blast

I'll have a look to see if there a way to retap the thread and bodge it back together, bit harsh perhaps I should say re engineer it into a working solution.

I'm currently in the process of selling one with a broken side stand...:augie

not because it's broken but i bought it for a job and could do with the money back while we wait for the job to come round again. This my second 450.... this one I even rode about.... well 200 miles...

I fitted a well expensive bash plate cos the factory one fell off... hand guards, new grips and bar risers ....and a new battery cos the bike had been standing for nearly 2 years doing nowt....at some random place in wales with no name... well a shop full of motorcycle accessories...

bloody good bike...very clean well it was till I made it dirty... but it's a work thing so I'm not bothered. I'm not supposed to ride it anyway as I've got a ruptured disc and my barrister wanted some money to fix the guilty party...so it was this one or my 1150....

long story very messy....

Actually Chad could probably fix it, what I think my bike needs if it's the same bike which it might not be, is to have the thread re-tapped then it would probably be okay with a bigger bolt...

here's my question

where are you buying it from?

:augie

A mate in Cork, Ireland is selling it!

:augie well it's not mine then.... I was feeling akward for a moment.

:D

mine the side stand broke out off the retaining point, hence the retap idea.

best of luck.... I thought it was spot on once I had the new battery cos it needs power and plenty of it to start...
