Odd problem...the bolt that stops the side stand pivot bracket on my 1100GS sheared off last night. The bolt is easy enough to replace...once I get the snapped bit out of the crankcase. Should manage that with an easy-out extractor. The question is, what torque is appropriate for the new bolt? It's not listed in the Haynes manual and as it drives straight into the engine block (alloy) stripping the thread would not be a good thing. What's a suitable torque for an M8x25 bolt in the crankcase?
