Side Stand switch......?

I'd be intrested. I had mine cut in Thailand. Bastard thing.

Thieving B@s#@dz

Well I have now bought the mild steel replacement for the side stand bracket from BMW.
Firstly I must say that yet again Jeffries were excellent and ordered the part in for me to look at and compare without committing to buy. so a big thanks to Paul and all the people at Jeffries.
However here is the rubb, £102 for a piece of mild steel very poorly painted black.
I would suggest to anyone in warranty or extended to go and get one fitted as a safey issue possibly.
Ok so I now have an old bent bit of alli which used to be a side stand bracket and an extreeeeeemly expensive bit of mild steel as suplied by BMW.
the next stage is to get one made up in stainless and at that point i will post photos, weight comparisons and cost etc.
I know this is taking a bit of time but I'm doing it on days off work which are few and far between at the mo.
by the way what I get them made for will be the price they get posted out for I'm not trying to make any money out of this more like save us all a bit.

I will keep you posted.

MUZZ

I'll be in Thailand from 5th Oct to 3rd Nov so if i have them made by then I'll deliver yours for a bottle of singer or two.:beerjug::clap

Do you have a PayPal account?

If you do don't forget to add the fees to the cost, they'll be about £7.50 or so.

If you don't have PayPal then I'll have to wire you the money from here, and I can email you a prepaid UPS shipping label.

Thanks for doing this!! :clap:clap:clap

Sexy

Thanks spout, is that a Woody's part?
I dont think the 'Nipple' is worth the extra cost in manufacture to be honnest.
Its only the side stand!! the two metals are not in constant friction and it only moves through 90 degrees.
I may be wrong but!!!
what do people think.:nenau

I'm in the machine shop tomor with simon, we will be comparing the OE alli part and the one made of gold err sorry, I mean mild steel I got from Jeffries. Hopefully should have some good news in a few weeks.
Keep you all informed.:thumb
