Started the bike (1300GS 2024) this morning and within 25 yards of my house the dash was displaying various errors (cruise control not operational, traction control error, abs not functioning). The bike went into limp mode with a max of about 15mph. I turned the bike around and returned home. When trying to turn the bike off, there was no response from the on/off switch, so I stalled the bike to stop the engine. I started the bike again, but still no response when trying to turn the bike off again - so I stalled it again to stop the engine.
I put the bike away in the garage (ignition still on with front/rear lights and sat nav on) and plugged it in to my battery charger to maintain the battery charge.
BMW Assist turned up after about 1.5 hours - the technician had a problem with his laptop, so couldn't plug it into the bike to see any fault codes. He then disconnected the battery, left it for 2 mins and then connected the battery again.
The bike ignition now starts (and turns off) and I took it for a 3 mile test ride with no dash errors, no normal service has been resumed. The bike has now been booked in at Wollaston Northampton to see if they can diagnose the root cause.
Has anyone else had this or a similar issue and can shed any light on the problem?
Thanks
Tony
