Sidestand 'Hoof'!

Hmmmm, Ok, well if you have truly done all of that then it is probably a case of reversing the polarity of the flux-capasitor thingy. Not an easy task, but it worked for me.

Just be mindful though of eddies in the space time continuum...

Oh and before you ask, No, I haven't taken my meds today... or yesterday either! :roll

LMAO...Cheers Kryton :bow

Jacal , can you not show a pic with the Hoof offered into place so as to see where it is fouling?

Would love to Jay and I'm having a conversation with a certain member in the 1200 section on how to do this. Until the weekend when I can get someone to hold it upright with the centre stand up, I'm at a loss.

BUT please believe me I have no reason to say otherwise - The Hoof fouls the centre stand and I would imagine will also catch the exhaust on a bumpy road.

Thanks to all that's tried to help but I can only imagine that the Anniversary 1200GS and the Anniversary 1200GSA are different.

hoof

My hoof bumps the centre stand when it pings up, and touches centre stand slightly when in the rest position, but all the bolt on footprints i have tried do that. Mines a 1200gsa 2010, Much better position when in use though, Not as far lent over especially if am not feeling so strong that day to haul it up with a full tank of fuel.

I am not doubting you for one moment Jacal. As Dave h has also noted some interference then I can only assume that there are definite discrepancies in the design between the GS and GSA, or more specifically the Anniversary models, in side and main stand areas as well as the exhaust. If you look back through this thread you can see quite clearly how much clearance there is on my GS between the Hoof and the exhaust - plenty, and it makes no contact whatsoever with the main stand.

Provided you haven't altered or damaged the Hoof in any way, and if you should so wish, then I'll be happy to refund you after its return. I am sorry but you would be responsible for shipping costs of the returned item.

Thank you Jay and no inference was intended.

The 'Hoof' is as you sent BUT for a slight rubbing where the weight of the bike as made contact with the floor when trying the sidestand out.

If that's acceptable (I couldn't try it otherwise) Then please PM me your address and I'll return it, thank you.

Such a shame as it is a quality stand and would make the bike a lot easier to get upright....Ah Well! Looks like one of the 'Camel Toe' thingies.

It is possible to test fitment without the Hoof touching the floor and this would have prevented any damage. Put the bike on the c/stand, bring the sidestand down and fit. Retract sidestand, retract c/stand and look for contact areas. No damage need be done at all for such a simple test.

You have PM.

Fitted my hoof a few weeks ago now, and I am well happy with it. a real professional job just what I needed on my 09GS :thumb:thumb2

Hindsight is such a gift....BUT....if it's such a simple test then maybe you should have put them in your 'Fitting instructions'

Wonder how many peeps did as you now sugest this 'Simple test' :nenau

PM replied to!

I apologise for confusing common sense with rocket science!

Hear me Jacal , I don't object to genuine flack if I have cocked up big time or deliberately misled you or anyone else. What I do object to are the snide remarks and the Jeckyll and Hyde mismatch between your PMs and posts.

I have tried to help people here and manufactured these in my own time. Everybody except you , so far, is happy, or seemingly so, with the product they received. I do not profess to know every BMW ever made or the ins and outs of model changes year by year, model upon model, spec by spec. This item fits my 2012 GS , it also fits older GS's owned by others , both GS and GSA's in fact.

The moment you realised it would not seat properly around your sidestand footprint was the moment you should have approached me , not after you damaged it!

I offered you a refund provided you haven't damaged the item but your latest PM suggests you have damaged it.

Regarding hindsight , it should be pretty obvious to most folk that you look after a newly received product just in case you need to send it back for any reason. You surely didn't expect me to suggest placing the Hoof fitted sidestand on to a soft cloth or carpet tile before testing on concrete?

Would you buy a motorcycle, scrape the paintwork then say 'sorry , it's not the bike for me' and expect the previous owner to be impressed when you return it?

I'm at a loss to what to say, not once have I said anything derogatory about you product or you, or asked for a refund, I asked if anyone had problems fitting because mine wasn't "SEATING RIGHT" and YOU suggested I put a post up to see if someone could help, when I did, that didn't meet with your approval.

YOU then offered a CODITIONAL REFUND! days after it was apparent it didn't fit, again not asked for!

You have done nothing but make accusation about how you have PERCEIVED my post and my ATTITUDE to the point of being downright rude! in your PM's, tell you what, lets post them!

When I asked you if the grazing on the item where it made contact with the floor was acceptable, YOU asked if the floor was concrete or carpet, I replied that the garage floor was concrete. You even had the cheek to sarcastically reply that I hadn't mentioned it was a GARAGE, we'll I don't know many people that keep their bikes on carpet, I'm sure there is, but the majority keep them on hard standing!

YOU are the one who sarcastically asked about me not being able ot afford the £2 to post the item back, BUT if you had taken just a little longer to think about it, you may have worked out that I didn't want to waste another £2 and that's why I asked about the grazing.

We'll matey it's come to this, your selling 'HOOFS' for the GS and GSA and for your information they DON'T fit all, as I and another have said! BUT when asked your response is to make any excuses to justify yourself.

I DON'T WANT A REFUND AND NEVER ASKED FOR ONE!

TAKE IT SOMEWHERE ELSE. i HAVE SO MUCH BETTER THINGS TO DO THAN TO LISTEN TO YOU!

For someone 'at a loss what to say' I think you have said quite alot , it's just a shame you have been so economical with the truth, not to mention putting your own slant on our conversations!

Hoof

Many thanks for a professional bit of kit. Fitted it today and it's exactly what I expected it to be, well done:thumb2 Reading all that has been said. don't listen, you have produced something that no other has done. Perhaps there's a bit of envey:blast Just put the babies to bed:tears and keep produceing the quality, well done:likeit

Cheers Redpadraig. :beerjug:

For anyone else who may be interested there are just 10 left. After these have gone that will be it, no more, as I need to fund a new project.

Clearance price is now £20.00 each incl p&p or £160.00 all in for the joblot! That allows a £70.00 profit for someone to benefit from on the joblot option.

PM me if you're wanting to buy. :thumb2
