hey up
My sidestand need alteration
I have seen the surefoot and Migsel improved variants
I think I can "doctor" a old un up to work better than the original
Has anyone an old or damaged one that they want to chuck away cheap
I am only after the bit that swings down off the crash bar to the floor
hopefully :thumb thanks for looking
I will put this in the general/common as muck "Wanted" section if I dont get any answers in a day or so from the lads who may have one

Ask Ernie of Overland Solutions. When a mate and me had our sidestands replaced, we told him to keep/chuck the old bits. He probably binned them but may have others...

John

I brought this new for £26 from an online MX store - I just needed a small plate welded to my Krauser crash bars and it works just fine.

Sidestand Idea that does not break your leg when using it.

Hi MickDB1

Just a thought, would the need for a new sidestand be a chance to get an improved stand. I only say this as the original style of stand tends to require the rider to dismount the stead before putting it on it side stand. So way not change it for the seated version. :bounce1

:rob I only say this as I needed a seated version as I could not get off the bike when it is loaded. I am a sitting duck :comfort

Thanks everyone for the inputs and advice :thumb2

I have now been contacted by a member who has offered me a well travelled sidestand off a R65 ( so its got history / cred )
This I will alter to fit and work better than my original
I am welding an arm to it and a bit on bottom so I can deploy whilst seated without putting me leg under the pot
Also I will not have to fit a sidestand switch or owt
Not that I have set off many times with the other style stand I did with a either stay up or stay down stand ( weld a 6mm caphead to the front of the crashbar pivot pin instead of behind it on original )

Thanks again ( especially Proff ) :thumb2

Tight Bastid !!

Well it is done !!
The old one was in fecking Tight, had to use 3 ton press to get it out plus heat

New one is in and ready to go back on bike :thumb2
Old one being parcelled up for Mick as we speak :thumb2

Nope, your old one is on my Gertie, my old one is modified same as your old one and now on R65g/s [as in pic above]
The one Mick has is the one off the R65gs that did the "Legend" trip and still has Sahara sand on it :)

I have P.Med Migsiel, was after one of his, he must be away

Hi Steve,
I replied to your pm on the 27th but I haven't heard back from you.
Do you want the last Migstand I have or can I sell it to somebody else?

these stands are getting around.
mine is keeping gertie uprigjht then.
kenny will have a rare desert stand then.so you got the r65 from john?

Finished it this afternoon - it took me 3 hour mind :rob
Thanks again lads for the stand and help getting it :thumb2
I took some picture hope you will not be too bored with them - but it may help someone else who does not like to put their leg under the pot to place the stand out - Now it aint so much a dare - I also made it a tadge longer so the bike is only at around 12.58 degrees :augie when at rest on level ground
Also apart from the time and a drink to proff it re-cycled ans resurected a part off a famous bike - and adds a extra story to My Bike :clap
Its off on a trip abroad next week :thumb2

Thanks again
