Just brought a new GS home for a full day 200 mile test tomorrow.
All the goodies on it so we'll see.
First impressions? Motor seems completely clatter free at start up and thereafter. Pulls much better and more crisply than my own GS, up to about 5K anyway and then the difference fades off. Will try the 6 to 8k rev range more properly tomorrow. Certainly smoother and less fluffy in traffic and is usable down to 2k with a more urgent and cleaner pick up than any other GS I've ridden. A boon to those who want to take all the opportunities in traffic to make progress.
Exhaust sounds same as mine which has cat free headers and standard can i.e.fruity but not intrusive.
Also took a peep at the cams and fingers on Saturday. Fingers come off easily courtesy of a circlip so a shim swap should only take 1 to 2 mins per valve. I know a few have been wary of how long this would take and the associated expense.
Will give it some beans and play with the toys tomorrow and see what transpires.
