I've written up the first three weeks, now that I have a good internet connection I'm doing another two or three days worth each day.

For an inexpensive ready-to-ride dual sport with long-travel suspension it's hard to think of a better bike. The intractable engine lets it down a bit, so I would happily go with the F650GS Dakar or the G650GS Sertao as an alternative.

The G650 xChallenge is probably as good or better than the Tenere offroad but the tank is far too small (9 litres vs 23 litres) and I'm not inclined to buy a bike that needs such a basic modification.
