SJ4000 vs Gopro 3+.

Just bought two sj4000's and the quality is fantastic, other benefits are the screen and all the different mounts. ( they also fit the Gopro mounts)The only down side is the battery life at around 60mins, easy enough to get a few batteries and swap them over, still much cheaper than a gopro

A mate of mine who's seriously into his photography has just bought one. He loves it, pretty as good as good as his Go Pro he says.

For the price its unbeatable, all the mounts are the same so if you have a GoPro and just want a few extra extra mounts then buy one of these, its the cheaper way.

Any one know if these can be powered from the bike or if the have the same USB port as the hero?

Brilliant, thanks for the info all.

Is the battery life better on a gopro then?

I think to be honest, I might get the SJ4000 (I haven't seen one bad review yet online!) and then look to power it via the bike.

Cheers

The guy in your link quoted 100 minutes use in his video, maybe with display off? Battery's are between £5 & £7 on ebay

I am about to buy a new waterproof camera.
Had the GoPro 960 and it's a crap. After 2 years and half broke.
I just saw a video comparing GoPro and SJ4000, yeah maybe the GP has better battery, more contrast, no app and no remote control, etc but the price is not even close to the SJ4000.

Titto what u bought GP or SJ?

I will use it just for surf recording 2-3 videos/month so I think I'll go for the SJ.

Cheers

Don't do it, only had mine one day, the screen lost all its menu's. Came to connect to computer & the mini USB socket dropped off inside the camera. Chinese rubbish.

I bought the go pro hero 3+ black on the promise of the much vaunted extended battery life, load of crap, away at the minute and had 3 separate mounts rigged up to get the best of the alpine passes.
With a fully charged battery the thing lasts max 45 to 55 minutes before shutting down , the screen shows the battery is only 1/2 discharged and the camera will switch on but not record. As soon as the record function is activated it switches off.
Absolutely useless

Phew, a blessed relief :D

Take a look at the Drift Ghost HD. 3 hours battery life, includes a remote. Cheap 1/4" adaptor needed to utilise the GoPro mounts.
