Skid06's new bike

This thread was made of comments I removed from the main weekend thread.

I don't think a bike has been procured. I've a feeling that the comments were based on the enthusiasm surrounding a new bike, rather than the obtaining of said vehicle.

Sorry to disappoint. Happy to delete this thread if required.

bikes sorted I'm pleased to say (well sort of). went for a viewing in Leicester, car dealer who've converted a showroom solely to Voge Bikes, nice guys....Im under strict instructions of no more Bikes allowed on site till i sell one or two as they are now taking up bedroom space, so i have a few for sale...Voge looks really well finished and crazy value at £3800

Skid, did the Voge get delivered? They are knocking out the last stocks of 2023 model Rally 300 for a little over £3k here in France (3590Eu)
I'd been hankering after a CRF300 for a while for some green laning but couldn't resist saving over £2k on getting the CRF and have ordered a Voge. Test rode it yesterday and was pleasantly surprised. Happy days

Not wanting to piss on your bonfire, but saw one at the NEC Bike Show.

Whilst it looked okay, I'm not sure how many green lanes and jet washes it will stand before starting to look very second hand.

Absolutely no resale value after 3 or 4 years.

I suppose at £3k, it's sort of disposable. Ride it 'til it dies! Get the most out of it, I'd be pleased to be proved wrong.

I pm'd you Davey, just got to get sorted with selling a Bike then its on its way, not seen one bad review (owner) a fair few trading CRF's with no regrets, wish i could pick one up for 3k!

I sort of hear what you're saying and we had the same discussion while stood looking at one after a test ride. The thing is, if the chinese had spent a few quid here and there on all the little bits that will obviously need attention, the bike wouldn't seriously undercut the CRF. As it is, an hour or 3 swapping a few bolts for allen stainless, a touch of smoothrite paint and I'm confident it'll be fine 2 years down the line (with 1 years warranty remaining and 2 years before needing an 'MOT') when I'd likely trade it.

Yeabut,yeabut,
Turn up at a ride out on one these and everyone will think you’re poor and can’t afford better.
Seriously though,(and this is only my opinion)
The popular YouTuber that’s “ raving “ if that’s the correct word, seems to be trying to get on board as a distributor for them.
You can read into that what you want and I’m happy to be corrected.
Me and tufty were nosing around one at the NEC,
The depreciation on Chinese bikes is a big issue,by the time you’ve bought it,fettled it and ridden it a few thousand miles,it won’t have been much cheaper than the crf but will be worth a 1/3 rd.
Buy a good 250 Yamaha,if you chose to upgrade or don’t like Green laning ,if you’ve looked after it you will get most of your outlay back

That's an interesting one. The way I read it is that he was 'loaned' a Voge 300, ragged it here there and everywhere and was mightily impressed. So much so that he could see that, with his endorsement, he could do well selling them for Voge. Time will tell.

If its Nathan we are talking about , hasnt he gone on to buy a new one to add to the comparison fleet eg CRF , old Himmie , 400X , Gs310 Ktm Adv 390 etc
