hi,just getting round to change the gear box oil on my 1100gs and noticed that motorworks sell slick50 gearbox additive. Is this worth purchasing or are regular oil changes just as good ?

if it was any good oil companys would put it in, just change the oil regularly.

Try the ...

... search function on here; been discussed many times and generally thought of as 'Snake Oil' :augie

Waste of time & money.
Use good oil and change every 6K miles.

A good, fully-synthetic gearbox oil is
a) hard to find and,
b) superb for improving the gearchange quality.

Slick 50 is snake-oil and its use of PTFE additives have been disowned by the base-chemical manufacturer, 3M.

Do a search on this topic

There is a lot of evidence that such additives actually do a great deal of harm to both ball and rollers bearings.
Its prevents the balls/rollers from rotating as it breaks down the friction between the two parts so much they 'skid' instead of turning and accelerates wear.
Don’t do it!
