Slippery seat!

Upgraded from an ‘02 1150 to an ‘08 1200 & very pleased too!
only issue I have is, no matter how I change the seat adjusters, when riding, my arse ‘naturally’ fall forwards & one’s Jacobs nestled hard against the tank ….never had this on the old 1150. Has anyone any experience of any ‘anti-slip’ cover that one could put on the seats that keeps one’s arse rigid?
appreciate any help.

Poundland used to sell rolls of rubber mesh netting. Ideal for using on seats and under tank bags, in tool cabinets etc, and in various colours. Very popular on UKGSer back in the day, everyone was using them for all sorts of things, I still have a few rolls somewhere in the garage

It is a standard seat? They have never struck me as being a slippery material but some of the aftermarket ones look like they could be. Anyway, a mesh cover might help. Do your trousers actually slip on the seat, or could it be that if they are quite roomy they are gripping the seat but you are slipping inside them. If you see what I mean. I have had that problem before.

You are a slippery customer!
As per Steptoe put something cheap and cheerful on the seat.
Alternatively you could spend thirty times over and get yourself an original Cool Cover from Nippy Norman.

I had that problem. I can’t remember the name of it, but there’s a spray which goalkeepers’ apply to their gloves. May sound unlikely but it completely solved it for me. Just reapply once a week or so. No mess.

Standard seat, have to confess I did thoroughly clean the seat after purchase,
perhaps a little too clean

I'm fed up explaining how the seat can't be fitted in other ways other than high or low - the owners manual says never do one up one down, and plenty of owners have expressed its not possible, the seat just collapses and falls off the mountings as soon as you sit on it (it does), and or you can break the mounting trying the other way around

then we get the other brigade telling us we are wrong - now I have a later GSA its seat looks the same as my other GSA seat (even the same colour scheme), but its feel is different (far less comfortable) maybe that one can be mounted wrong - but why would anyone do it ?

and the seat isn't remotely slippery - it would be better if it was

Try cool cover seat cover or one of the cheap alternatives, makes it comfier and cooler as the name suggests plus it will stop the sliding.

I've been recommended Motul Perfect Seat for my slippery seat, cleans and UV protects and doesn't leave the vinyl slippy.
Got a bottle on order so will try it.
(Not on a GS though)

Might try this and/or the goal keeper gloves spray recommendEd earlier.

Rubbish.
I have had my seats higher at the front and low at the back since just after I bought it.
Stock seat and my Sargent!!
They have never fallen off the mounts.

that's why I mentioned the two camps - somewhere there must be a slight design difference - or liars - mine can't do it wrong IT FALLS STRAIGHT OF THE MOUNTS and the manual agrees

Mmmmm me thinks I'll put both adjusters down low then try some Motul 'perfect seat' as mentioned before, cleans the seat with 'no slip' effects......failing that, tube of super glue!
