Got a twelve month old GS with 9k miles so far.

Noticed over the past couple of days that, on occasion, as the revs build the bike feels as though the clutch is slipping - unless it's the road surface or something else.

Has anyone else had this please? Does it sound like the clutch or something else? I'm pretty sure that it's not the road surface.

Take the top off the clutch fluid reservoir and take out a bit of the fluid.

The level goes UP as the clutch wears DOWN. Too much fluid and pressure remains in the system, preventing the clutch from fully engaging.

Does it only happen in a high gear? i.e. you are crusing along at around 60 mph in 5th or 6th and try to accellerate and see the symptoms?

High gears seem to show up clutch slippage far better than low gears - must be that mechanical stuff or somesuch.

Before you do anything else, check that the hand guard hasn't been knocked down, thus preventing the lever to fully disengage the clutch. :thumb

Just checked and you are spot on :thumb

Thanks very much for that. I did drop the bike a week ago, when virtually still and that must have done it.

Cheers all!
