I've tried all the standard screen settings. I've fitted Tobinators and have been playing for 2 weeks and can't find a combination to eliminate buffetting. Don't like the idea of a larger screen, as they haven't worked on previous bikes. Before I take to my screen with a saw, does anyone know of any after-market smaller screens? Has anyone else cut their screen down, and if so by how much?

Cheers,

Mick

Mick,

I've cut my scren down, by quite a lot. Basically it's cut at the "creases" on the sides, and about 4 cm off the top. It now resembles the narrow 950 Adventure screen...

... I've got pictures and all that, but I've not had time to post a write up... :(

Bugger, now you've put pressure on me... Just FYI, I'm moving house right now, and I'm off for Xmas...

.. Expect pictures/writeup mid or late Jan... :( :(

.. Unless I "Just do it"...

The executive summary is, using a Dremel (mini-drill) with a metal cutting disc, and sand-paper-gridnding thingee, I cut off about 3-4cm off the top, and on the sides I cut it at the creases. I also angled it back as much as I could with Tobinators on full extend. I then cut off so much that the bars go lock-to-lock without touching the screen. I realise that this could have been a bit too much, as I'll probably never use the screen that far back. But on the other hand it doesn't seem to cause any problems.

I finished off the edges by sanding them with fine sand paper, then I tried to use various polishing thingees to get the scratches out - I'm still not happy with the edges (they're not perfect = not 100% happy).

One day I'll do the proper write up...
