It seems that they are closing
Just watched a video from the owner he is just closing down and selling the building as he wants to concentrate on Steel city classics and his family

So not just Ducati as they were also KTM dealer along with used bikes

Selling all the stock ( I assume he means clothing etc) off cheap

Shame really

That's a bloody shame. 😔

Shame. They have some nice stuff and I have test ridden a lot of bikes from there. Never bought one as they didn’t fill me with confidence on lots of fronts. Have bought plenty of kit there though.

I am really sorry to hear they are closing.

To say Sheffield is a City it doesn’t have many bike shops left, Via Moto has recently left and opened up in Barnsley. SMC and Via Moto were both in the CAZ, people dropping off and collecting bikes in pre-2016 vans would have had to pay the charge and if dropped off one day and collected the following would have had to pay twice.
Sheffield City Council is currently trying to ruin certain businesses as they don’t fit in with their current plans, Frank has stood up and said so but it all falls on deaf ears. Our business is in the CAZ and has been affected badly, we are considering opening up new premises outside of Sheffield but have been on the current site for over 54 years, it’s a difficult decision.
I wish Frank well in his newish venture.

at 54 years would they listen to you , i doubt it.
they will when 30% of the business's have moved out , and the properties are empty.

Via Moto’s still there:

I would have thought Frank’s probably reached the time of life to take a step back and take it a bit easier. SMC was a busy dealership. Having said that’s Sheffield’s becoming a bit of a main dealer void. You have to go to Toytown for BMW, Padgets or Vertu for Honda, Chesterfield for Harley etc., etc.

Maybe independent is the way to go. The Bike Specialists seem to be doing alright.

Via Moto now in Barnsley. Another business forced out by Sheffield council. They are worse than useless.
