Well not the glove really, it smells ok, its my hands after I've been wearing them
So how do I clean my winter gloves, leather and about 2 or 3 years old ?
Cheers

I've got some Belstaff gloves with a supposedly breathable Hipora membrane. Trouble is, it doesn't breathe enough, or I've got clammy hands. Anyway, they stink after a while, and the stink sticks to my hands for hours. An alcohol based helmet cleaner (something like Wurth) liberally sprayed inside does the trick for a while. TBH I'm on the verge of chucking them away :(

Don't know about the cure but a possible way of reducing the problem in the first place might be to use an inner glove like the BMW silk ones. They add nothing in terms of bulk and can be washed easily.

Apparently putting them in a ziplock plastic bag then inside the freezer overnight does the trick...the smells are caused by bacteria and doing this kills them.

Don't forget the ziplock or'll they'll get soggy when they thaw ;)

Sounds plausible, Ill try it tonight.

Baking soda.......Make a small napsack of porous tissue paper & place inside, in a couple of days the smell should be gone.

I used Febreeze antibacterial in my helmet, which was seriously rank. Been fine ever since.

I suppose if you keep yer helmet bacteria free then yer gloves should be ok too..is that how it works??? hee hee.. :D

It works, I have been using that method for a few years. A bike copper told me about it years ago when he pulled me over in the pouring rain for speeding.

I’ve not been out on the bike since Tuesday, its snowing up here ffs. :nige

It certainly hasn’t done them any harm, and I was close to binning them.
SWMBO thinks I've totally lost the plot, putting my gloves in ziplock bags and banging them in the freezer :mmmm
Cheers
