i have recently changed my y piece and followed the threads for advice .. i get black smoke on start up 9 times out of 10 but it clears quickly and run ok .. is this running rich and in need of the steptoe thread on this matter or oil seals etc ???

oh what a wise old owl u are onahi .. how would the world cope without your wisdom .... shame ur full of shite

Johnny..as Steve's question implied, leaving it on the side stand is a well known way of generating a small puff of smoke on start up as a small amount of oil will gather in the downhill bore.

It takes some getting used to hoiking the fat bastards up on the centre stand everytime, but you'll find most of us do.

:)

but it never did it before until i changed the y piece.. and it wasnt a small puff either

Na..........................................................................................it was a bloody British army smoke generator............the ones that were used to get 30 corp across the river at Nijmegen. (under german Machine gun and mortar fire) Very good smoke screan though.
:D

Johnny, Dont worry, Cannons in chelmsford will sort it. Get ya wallet out.
